So how do you get the fluid in the PB to spin?,I can't see it working without
pictures and a detailed explanation with math and documentation to back it up.
There is also the question of irregular shaped gel shells inside that will give a wobble
that increase with range, that in turn ends up tumbling and decreases group size.
But if all this works, assume. Grin

I believe there is a post here somewhere here about this same subject,
it had all the relevant material to explain the pros and cons of this idea
with said math and documentation. Cool

Math is all well and good but sometimes, especially regarding something like this, there are so many variables it can't explain everything very well.

I don't have a problem getting the gel to spin. I suppose it's thick enough that it doesn't cause issues. I'm at school right now in Cali and all my gear is back home in VA, so I can't take pics now, but I'll get some as soon as I can. It takes a lot of tweaking, but lead is a soft metal and can be sanded and shaped very easily. That's what allowed me to get my shape perfect to eliminate wobble from that end. I also have all the tools I need to take precise measurements available. I haven't had too much of a problem with wobbling mid flight. I use the U.S. made stuff, and it seems to have a fairly consistent gel wall. That would effect flight whether it was bullet shaped or a sphere, so they already try to maintain as much consistency as possible during manufacture.

Yes 51B_company, 75 yards. Any beyond that and the paintballs loose too much velocity and begin to tumble instead of spin and they go all over the place.

< New here to Rap4 ... was wondering if any of you guys knew of a ballistics table for .43 an .68 cal. paintball ... an going out on a limb on this one but, and a barrel increment/accuracy chart with varying brands/types of barrels? I have been looking at the rap4's for quite some time now, having shot off one a few times Im now ready to purchase one ... but was looking to get the best possible marker with out going overboard on price .. just curious to see what the tables say, an gonna make a decision on what type of barrel set up, length, rifled or not ect ect .... any suggestions?

Would like to be in the 14 - 18" barrel length range ... and leaning towards .68 cal ... but which do you guys think is more accurate? Thanks Wink

Sorry can't help you out on the table, but I will help you out with some info.

The optimum barrel length for a paintball marker is 8 inches. Any more length causes excess drag which in turn uses more air to achieve the desired velocity. However, a longer barrel is better for poking through brush and bunker wrapping.

Rifled barrels do not improve or decrease accuracy. They are merely a marketing ploy. The reason being a paintball to barrel match is never tight enough for the rifling to actually take effect, nor does the paintball itself expand enough.

.68 will always be the more accurate round. The reasoning behind this is seen in military applications around the world. Heavier round=more kinetic energy and more resistance to wind and other atmospheric conditions.

Hope this helped

SK1, how much more accurate would you say a 68 cal is compared to the 43 cal markers,

doesn't it all depend on the shooter.

It is hard to say due to the variables in each ball to barrel match, but in a perfect, controlled experiment the .68 will win over the .43 every time, but only at exceptionally long ranges where pressure and humidity will tangibly effect the flight of each ball. It is in the field where .68 really shines due to it's resistance to such atmospheric conditions and other variables.

Yes, it does depend on the shooter. If you give a .68 to someone who has never fired any type of paintball marker or firearm and a .43 marker to a dedicated marksman, the marksman will always win.
