Well i know that the plane tickted from canada is going to cost me and arm in a leg. i don't thinks its 1 million in cash, might be 1 million in prizes, store cost? if i was a for sure thing that i got to play for a week then it might be worth it, but if i have to play to qualifiy then i don't think so. im not saying i suck but its just not worth the risk. if i don't want the marker can you take off $350?
Muttly bring your paint! its on..i need a $250 deposit.
how much food is free per person?
how much paint per person?
what kind of gear? and is it keepable at the end of the game?

Well,I live in Canada and I'm interested in going, and I like the fact that the price is 899(still a little steep, though)and at least we get the chace to win$ AND play our favorite sport! Can anyone tell me why we can't bring our own markers.I realize RAP is a sponsor but I mean,I've spent over 1500 on my a5 and acc.-it seems like a waste not to be able to use it for this event.IMO.but...I know,I know we get a t68 with the entry fee.has anyone used one of these before,if so what is it like?

SHOW ME THE MONEY.

I caution everyone who is seriously considering playing in this tournament to request a third party verifiable proof of funds from the entity running the tournament.

Its all to easy to put together a wonderful scam whereby a 500 people from many different teams pay $1299.00 (minus $350.00 equals  $949.00) each, which  comes out to $474,500 in PROFIT for the organizer... and then only to find out there is no final tournament for a million dollar prize. They just scammed almost a half a million for the promise of a huge final prize.

The prize money not only should be verifiable, but also placed in an escrow type account held by a disinterested third party.

I'm not trying to ruin your day, but anyone willing to pay over a thousand dollars to play a few domestic games with the promise of an offshore game with huge dollars for the prize should at least do some due diligence.

I just love paintballers.  Give them an opprotunity such as this and they want everything free.  When I planned a speedball tournament last year that paid out $50,000 cash to the top Div 1 players all I heard was it cost to much to enter.  The entry fee was less than PSP event that pays out about $7000 to the top Div 1 team.  No one stops to think what it cost for the venue, security etc.  All I have to say is if you don't want to pay to play, just the shut your pie hole and get off of the forum.  If this is for real I will have a team there and will be glad to pay that little for the chance at 1 Mil.  Looking forward to more in info.  Rules, sponsors, guarantee of pay out etc.

I think the reason as you put it; people are opening there pie hole is because, that there are many hard cores on this site who would gladly pay the entry fee as long as there is some proof of viable funds and not a scam. Like matiastheok wrote if there is viable funds, there should be no problem as far as showing proof. and as far as peoples comments, last time i checked this was an open forum. And if your having a bad day ask your wife for a hug Smiley like you stated ; If this is for real, i think this question is on the minds of all the forums members

I would also like to state; that i think the idea of this competition is sweet, i just hope it all go's as planned.

It's all fine and good to tell anyone who can't afford it to shut their mouths and get off the forum, but they have as much right to be here as the paintballers that can afford it. many are upset over the entry fee because they also have to travel some long distances and that is expensive. I'm sorry but many paintball teams and players just don't have that kind of cash this quickly. As someone else mentioned it is very short notice, and if they had more time they could go. it's great to try for a chance at the cash even just the $50,000, but some are going to be spending more than they can afford just to try for it with no guaruntee. For some the risk cannot be taken, we have to eat ya know.

Paintball is an expensive sport wether we like it or not, and many if not most would rather play more often then just one big tournament.

Not that I like to spend time picking comments apart from people I have never met, but simply regarding one's monetary issues, the registration DOES include "T68 SMG, worth $350. The registration also includes paintballs, food, water and some equipment that will be used in the tournament."  So say you have a 10 man team and the registration is $1300 per team, as it roughly indicates at the beginning of this thread.  We are talking about $130 per player for registration and paint.  We all know how much field paint costs.  Do the math and decide for yourselves.  To me, in terms of a team registration, the price is VERY reasonable considering the potential prize package.  That's just my opinion anyhow.... I say give it a chance and see how it develops.
